A hands on experience in South Africa

About the volunteer program

Volunteers will live in an offsite house a few minutes away from the center with the volunteer co-ordinator. The house is close to the beach and in a secure complex. You will be driven to and from the center and transport will be provided to and from the airport as well. Food and drinks are included. Sunday will be a day off. You can also book additional activities like sightseeing, safari tours, diving and more. Volunteers will have to help clean the volunteer house and take turns with food preparation.

Volunteers responsibilities include:
- raising the orphans

- caring for the patients

- cleaning the cages and grounds
- preparing the food and feeding the monkeys

- Assisting with rescues / vet visits

- Assisting with transporting/loading the food on market day

- maintenance and enrichment for the enclosures

Schedule

Please keep in mind schedule may change incase of emergency rescues. Free time may consist of rescues, vet visits, caring for the orphans and patients, doing projects around the center or at the volunteer house depending on the days and season.

Mon-Saturday

7:30am - wake up and have breakfast
8:30am - leave for center

8:50am - cleaning & feeding time

10:30am - free time

12pm-2pm - lunch time at volunteer house

2pm - free time

4pm - afternoon feeding time

5pm - return back to volunteer house

5:20 - Dinner time
